Broadcom QSFP-100G-AOC-7M compatible Active Optical Cable (AOC) as a 100 Gigabit variant, with QSFP28 to QSFP28 connection, for connecting hardware within racks and across adjacent racks. BlueOptics Broadcom QSFP-100G-AOC-7M compatible QSFP
Compared to Direct Attach Copper (DAC) solutions, the hot-pluggable Active Optical Cables are more flexible and lighter. The QSFP28 to QSFP28 meter connectors have a built-in E/O and O/E converter, converting the electrical signal into an optical signal. This signal is converted back into an electrical signal and transmitted at the other end of the Active Optical Cable. The connection can be made to supporting hardware with QSFP28 to QSFP28 ports.
The QSFP28 to QSFP28 meter transceiver connections of each Active Optical Cable are manufactured according to MSA standards, considering SFF and IEEE specifications. Active Optical Cables offer better performance, a smaller bend radius, and a smaller diameter compared to Direct Attach Copper solutions.
